The Augusta Economic Development Authority today announced the promotion of Cheney Thomasson to Manager of Existing Industry and Strategic Partnerships. She will have the primary responsibility of building relationships with corporate entities, industrial partners, educational organizations, and all other key partners on the local, regional, and national level to advance the mission and organizational goals of the Development Authority.
Our team recently visited two cities on opposite borders of the state, yet bound by geography, history, and a desire to embrace innovation to move their communities forward. I am referring to Augusta and Columbus; historic Georgia communities located on our state’s eastern and western borders.
After a two-year hiatus, the Augusta Economic Development Authority is reviving its annual awards ceremony for local manufacturers. The city’s industrial-recruiting agency has scheduled its Celebration of Industries gala for March 1 at 7 p.m. The evening event, featuring the Manufacturer of the Year awards, will replace the daytime awards luncheon that was last held in 2016.
The Augusta Economic Development Authority continues to build their team for the improvement of Richmond County and the Augusta Region. Timothy McFalls, Sr. has been named Manager of Commercial and Retail Development for the EDA and will begin immediately.
